The O-RAN ALLIANCE and its members will present insights and improvements to open and intelligent Radio Access Networks (RAN) throughout MWC Las Vegas, September 26-28, 2023.
O-RAN ALLIANCE participants plan to showcase six on-site and 19 virtual demonstrations for the MWC Las Vegas 2023. Demonstrations will feature Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML)-powered RAN solutions enabling improvement of user experience or reduction of operational costs. Companies are showcasing applications (xApps and rApps developed for O-RAN-based Radio Intelligent Controllers) to save on energy consumption, improve network management efficiency, or to enable future enhancements based on advanced analysis of network data through AI/ML models. There are also several showcases of open RAN demonstrations as well as testing and integration solutions.
O-RAN demonstrations are being delivered by: 5G WIN, AccelerComm, Acentury, Aira Technologies, AirHop Communications, Artiza Networks, Aspire, COMPAL, EURECOM, Groundhog, ITRI, Lenovo, LIONS, Net AI, Northeastern University, NYCU, P.I. Works, Rimedo Labs, SageRAN, Simnovus, Spirent, VIAVI Solutions and VMware.
“Openness boosts innovation,” said Brian Daly, co-chair of O-RAN ALLIANCE Technical Steering Committee and A&T Fellow & Assistant Vice President, AT&T Services. “The openness enabled by the O-RAN ALLIANCE Architecture empowers companies and institutions to develop concrete applications with real value for mobile network operators and their customers. With increasing maturity of O-RAN specifications we can clearly see the interest of the O-RAN ecosystem shifting towards high-value AI/ML-based intelligent solutions.”
