Dr. Alex Jinsung Choi
Dr. Alex Jinsung Choi is Chief Operating Officer of the O-RAN Alliance and SVP of Strategy and Technology Innovation (STI) and Head of T-Labs, which is the central Research & Development division of Deutsche Telekom. In addition, he is member of the Technology & Innovation management board, where he has responsibility for several strategic topics.

Dr. Choi has been a thought leaderfor over 20 years in the mobile telecommunication industry & consumer electronics by driving forward key strategic and research topics in Telco and AI.

Dr. Choi was the first Chairman of the TelecomInfra Project (TIP) and previously served as CTO for SK Telekom. With the introduction of "NUGU", the first AI- based virtual assistant in Korea, Dr. Choi was influential in the development of AI solutions.
Francisco Martin
Francisco (Paco) Martín Pignatelli is a Vodafone Executive +24 years of Experience in Mobile. He´s worked internationally in various Global positions in US and UK and has great breadth of experience in all Network domains as well as some customer facing positions. He´s more recently focused in OPEN RAN, an activity he leads in Vodafone as Head of OPEN RAN, an effort he pioneered in 2016 that´s grown to become the most relevant trend in mobile today, with Vodafone as one of the leading promoters. Paco is Alternate Board Member of the O-RAN ALLIANCE.

John Baker
John Baker is the Senior Vice President of Ecosystem Business Development at Mavenir. A veteran of the mobile industry, board member for 5G Americas, and sought-after industry speaker, John Baker leads the 5G team at Mavenir, intent on disrupting the market by transforming operator network economics.
Vikas Dixit 
Vikas Dixit received his M.Tech in Computer Science from BITS Pilani (India) and B.Tech in Computer Science from AMU Aligarh (India).  He is working as Assistance Vice President with Reliance Jio in New Product Development team. He has around 22 Years of Telecommunication Product Development Experience. Previously, he worked in Bluetooth, 3G, 4G and 5G (NR) technologies and product development. He is currently participating and contributing in O-RAN nGRG, WG1, WG2, WG3, WG10, MVP-C and SFG (WG11). He has contributed in O-RAN Whitepapers, Specifications, Use cases. He is working as co-rapporteur of WG3 Test Specifications. He is contributing in Small Cell Forum as WI lead and reviewer of SCF specifications and papers.
Ray Le Maistre 
UK-based Ray was appointed Editorial Director at TelecomTV in April 2020. He has been an editor and journalist covering the telecoms sector for more than 25 years, and has been reporting on Open RAN developments since 2018.
Tong Li 
Tong Li is Distinguished Researcher and Executive Director at Lenovo, where he leads the 5G network product line. Prior to Lenovo, he was a CPU architect at Intel for the Core and Xeon lines of microprocessor products. He is the recipient of three best paper awards for his work on computer architecture and operating systems. Tong holds a PhD in Computer Science from Duke University.
Arnaud Vamparys
Arnaud Vamparys, 49 years old, a graduate of the École Polytechnique and the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (X-Mines), joined the Group in 1995 to work since in a number of positions in France, in the Netherlands and in Spain, within the mobile, internet and business markets.As chief of engineering of Dutchtone, he built a new mobile network in the Netherlands between 1998 and 2000. From 2000 to 2003, he was CTIO for Spanish ISP Wanadoo which became number two on his market after Terra (Telefonica).From 2003 to 2007, he was the VP Products and Services Development for Orange Business Services (France Telecom, Transpac and Equant) creating the Orange Business Livebox a new multimedia router product line used today by more than 75% of the French business sites.His next position was Orange Labs Mass Market VP and in charge of the group historical R&D site of Issy-Les-Moulineaux near Paris.Arnaud Vamparys has been working three years between 2011 and 2014 as “Seamless Wireless Access” Group Strategic Program Director for Orange executive committee. The strategic program objective was to become leader in mobile internet customer experience for Europe and Middle East Africa.Since 2014, Arnaud Vamparys is our Senior Vice President for Radio Networks inside Orange Innovation. He is as well our 5G group champion since October 2017 coordinating different customer value creation initiatives on this new mobile network generation.
Chih-Lin I
Chih-Lin I is CMCC Chief Scientist of Wireless Technologies. She received Ph.D. EE from Stanford University. She has won 2005 IEEE ComSoc Stephen Rice Prize, 2018 IEEE ComSoc Fred W. Ellersick Prize, the 7th IEEE Asia-Pacific Outstanding Paper Award, and 2015 IEEE Industrial Innovation Award for Leadership and Innovation in Next-Generation Cellular Wireless Networks.

She is the Chair of O-RAN Technical Steering Committee and an O-RAN Executive Committee Member, the Chair of FuTURE 5G/6G SIG, the Chair of WAIA (Wireless AI Alliance) Executive Committee, an Executive Board Member of GreenTouch, a Network Operator Council Founding Member of ETSI NFV, a Steering Board Member and Vice Chair of WWRF, a Steering Committee member and the Publication Chair of IEEE 5G and Future Networks Initiatives, the Founding Chair of IEEE WCNC Steering Committee, the Director of IEEE ComSoc Meetings and Conferences Board, a Senior Editor of IEEE Trans. Green Comm. & Networking, an Area Editor of ACM/IEEE Trans. Networking; Executive Co-chair of IEEE Globecom 2020, IEEE WCNC 2007, IEEE WOCC 2004 and 2000; a member of IEEE ComSoc SDB, SPC, and CSCN-SC, and a Scientific Advisory Board Member of Singapore NRF.

She has published over 200 papers in scientific journals, book chapters and conferences and holds over 100 patents. She is co-author of the book “Green and Software-defined Wireless Networks -- From Theory to Practice” and has also Co-edited two books: “Ultra-dense Networks -- Principles and Applications” and “5G Networks -- Fundamental Requirements, Enabling Technologies, and Operations Management”. She is a Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of WWRF. Her current research interests center around ICDT Deep Convergence: “From Green & Soft to Open & Smart”.
Giovanni Romano 
Giovanni Romano is currently coordinating TIM activities on technical standards related to radio access and spectrum. In October 2016 Giovanni was nominated Alternate Board Director, representing TIM in NGMN. Since 1996 Giovanni has been active in several international standardisation fora and he is currently attending 3GPP RAN and NGMN. He is the 3GPP appointed coordinator for the exchange of information between 3GPP and ITU-R and coordinated the submission of 3GPP “5G” towards IMT-2020.Giovanni served as Vice-Chairman of 3GPP Technical Specification Group RAN for the period 2013-2017. Until 2005, Giovanni was project leader of several activities within the R&D center of Telecom Italia, including UMTS performance evaluation, quality of service verification, standardisation, field trials and testing.
Dr. Sameh Yamany 
Dr. Sameh Yamany is the CTO of VIAVI Solutions, where he drives innovation and execution of the company-wide technology roadmap and vision. He was the CEO and President of Trendium (acquired by JDSU in 2013), a market disruptor in Customer Experience Assurance.

Dr. Yamany's industry experience also includes his senior executive role at Tektronix Communications (acquired by Netscout), where he set the vision and development of the Iris wireless and wireline monitoring and troubleshooting suite of applications. Dr. Yamany worked as an assistant professor at Old Dominion University in Virginia and has a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Louisville, USA. He has authored several patents and more than 50 journals, conference publications, and book chapters in artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and biomedical engineering.
Greg Manganello
Greg Manganello is SVP and vice head of the 5G mobile systems business unit at Fujitsu. Greg’s mission is to deliver successful business outcomes to customers. This means forming long-term business partnerships as an authentic adviser; understanding the customer’s problem space; co-creating novel possibilities to solve challenges and realize opportunities; and delivering on the best network solution possible.

Greg’s transformation-oriented leadership style is the result of over 35 years of revenue and profit creation in technology companies. His innovative approach is focused on creating an organizational culture that attracts top-flight talent who can think big, focus intensely on generating positive customer outcomes, and perform dramatically beyond expectations.

Greg began his career at Bell Laboratories as a solution architect, lived and worked internationally in Singapore and Taiwan, and held several product management positions. In the 90s, Greg held strategy & marketing positions at Lucent Technologies and was their business development leader in Brazil where he led the dramatic growth of the company including the acquisition of two local companies. Returning to the US, Greg launched the Lucent Worldwide Services business, the Cable Businesses, and helped plan the Alcatel-Lucent Merger.

At Fujitsu, Greg created an innovation process that launched one new service a quarter, and expanded operations to include being the prime systems integrator for communications projects in new markets beyond telecom carriers including transportation, utilities, and state & local governments.  He led the acquisition of TrueNet Communications in 2016 and sits on its board of directors.  In wireless, he and the team worked with DISH Networks in 2020 to announce the first open Radio Access Network [ ORAN ] deal in North America.  Greg is Fujitsu’s representative at the Open RAN Policy Coalition.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. He completed Fujitsu's Global Knowledge Institute program, a six-month senior executive global leadership development program.
Rob Soni 
Rob is responsible for all aspects of AT&T’s RAN architecture and infrastructure technical road maps for hardware and software, including baseband units, radios, antennas and all ancillary components.In addition, his team oversees certification and development for RAN hardware, software and features. This team drives our strategy and contributions to global standards and to technical industry and government organizations.

Prior to joining AT&T, he led RAN architecture at VMware, overseeing their cloud platform infrastructure technology, including product definition and portfolio strategy. Rob also held technical roles with Nokia Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent, and Lucentdriving architecture, innovation and strategy for their entire wireless portfolio with amore recentparticular focus on cloud RAN and 5G.

Through his many key roles on the product side driving cellular infrastructure, Rob has driven large teams and small teams to provide innovative solutions that have reachedsignificant market penetration across 3G, 4G, and 5G networks in severallarge wireless operators around the world. He has supported and developed technologies that significantly improved performance, increased resiliency, significantly decreased power consumption and reduced total cost of ownership.

Rob holds a doctorateand master’s degreein electrical engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaignand a bachelor’s in science in electrical engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He currently lives in Columbus, Ohio, with his wif eand three children.
Masafumi Masuda

Nagendra Bykampadi
Nagendra Bykampadi is Head of Security Architecture and Standards at Rakuten Symphony. He is also currently serving as the vendor co-chair of the O-RAN Alliance Security Work Group (WG11). Nagendra brings more than 27 years of experience in the wireless industry. He has been actively engaged in security standardization in 3GPP SA3 and O-RAN Alliance since 2014. He leads a team of security architects that provide security architecture guidelines and support for Rakuten Symphony’s cloud native products. He is actively engaged with operators on all matters related to Open RAN security.
Jon Van-Orden
Jon has over 30 years experience in industry, covering product development, system engineering and solution testing programmes. In his current role as the Head of Engineering for NEC’s 5G Centre of Excellence, located in the UK, Jon leads the quality assurance and test teams validating Open RAN solutions for Tier 1 operators. This includes responsibility for the state of the art 5G Open RAN lab NEC has built in the UK to help accelerate the adoption of open technology for RAN.
Stefan Engel-Flechsig
Stefan Engel-Flechsig is Chief Operating Officer and Legal Counsel of the O-RAN ALLIANCE. He is admitted at the bar in Cologne/Germany. His special focus of work is with ICT regulation, standardization, and strategy in the global networked economy. Mr. Engel-Flechsig has over 25 years specialized experiences in computer science, law, and mobile communication. He has held various leading positions in the mobile and IT security industry.
Nicola Marziliano
Nicola (Nico) Marziliano with more than 30 years working within the Telecommunication industry is a tenured sales, operations, and product leader.

In 2020 he joined Wind River, where he is now serving as Vice President of International Telco Sales, with focus on Distributed RAN, ORAN, Cloud Infrastructure virtualization and Enterprise Edge. He is specialized in client engagement for Transformation, Customer driven and complex Operational renewal program, coordinating a team of professional sales and solution consultants in Enterprise, Business and Technologies.

Prior to joining Wind River Nico began his career at the Italtel R&D Labs, then joined Nokia in 1996, where he held several Senior Sales roles until he moved to the Business Unit OSS as Head of Product Management for OSS Transformation. Back in Sales, Nico assumed the role of Global Director in the Vodafone Global Team covering the AMAP region Sales (Oceania, India, Middle East & Africa).

He holds a B.S. and a master’s degree in Political Science from Catholic University of Milan, Italy.
Gerardo Giaretta
Gerardo Giaretta currentlyserves asvice presidentof product management at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. where he managesthe 5G infrastructure business and comprehensive productsportfolio.

Gerardo holdsover20 years of experience in the wireless communications industry including 16-plusyears with Qualcomm. Since joiningin 2007,hehas held a variety of roles in research, system design, standardization,and product management. Prior tojoining Qualcomm,Gerardo was part of the standardization team for Telecom Italia.

Gerardo holds a Bachelorof Sciencein Electrical Engineeringand a Masterof ScienceinTelecommunicationsEngineering from the University of Paduain Italy. Additionally, he has been granted more than 70U.S. patents.
Petr Ledl
Petr Lédl is VP of Network Trials and Integration Lab and chief architect of Access Disaggregation program. His main responsibility is identification, prototyping and technical evaluation of future mobile network technologies and related concepts (mainly 5G, LTE-A/Pro, Managed connectivity, etc.) and defining and implementing DTAG disaggregated RAN architecture based on O-RAN principles.

He studied Electrical Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague between 1995 and 2004. Since 2003 he has been working on different positions in Technology organizations of Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile Czech Republic.

The workshop will focus on future 6G standardization from different perspectives, with discussions led by distinguished experts from research institutions and representatives of the RAN industry.

The workshop is scheduled for October 31, 2024, 8:30am - 6:00pm EST, and will be webcast live.

2024 Open RAN Summit @Taipei - Building the Future of Connectivity with Open RAN and Open Source

The 2024 Open RAN Summit in Taipei, supported by O-RAN ALLIANCE, is scheduled to be held at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) from June 17th to June 18th, 2024.

This summit embodies the collaborative efforts of ITRI, NTUST, EURECOM, SUTD, TEEMA, and NYCU. International O-RAN experts, esteemed research institutions, and leading vendors will offer insightful perspectives on topics including nGRG, 6G, OSC, OAI, and AI. 6th O-RAN 6G Workshop: The Road to 6G Standards: Views from Industry and Academia
